I believe there is not a person here that is a stranger to those two devices. Without the ability to laugh at ourselves, we would be less than human. All that we hold sacrosanct is subject to becoming fuel for their insatiable flames. It is that very sacrosanctness that makes those things such easy targets.

Yes, humor is indeed invaluable, but there is a time and place for everything. Sometimes humor may lighten the atmosphere, and at other times it may prove itself inflammatory, especially when individuals or groups become its object amidst a situation which is tense enough as it is.
