Danadavts. All glories to the Vaisnavas.

Where are these paintings? This year for Govardhana puja my wife and two children had our annual GP program which consists of reading about the glories of Govardhana and assisting our children in building Govardhana Hill from different sweets.

This year my son invited three of his neighborhood friends over and as a group I told them the story of Krsna lifting Govardhana Hill and we then built the hill together. All of the kids were totally excited and were having fun trying to build the hill to my descriptions. They included constructing Radha Kunda in their activity and even little bhajan kutirs on the side for the sadhus.

After we offered the prasad to our deities, Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Gopicandraji.

Now the problem came when it was time to honor the prasadam because as much fun as the kids had many of them had never seen nor tasted indian sweets and were a bit intimidated. However, after joking and some prodding on my part they began to eat the halava and then burfi and then even the subji!

As it started to get late the children began to leave with big plates of prasadam from the hill as well as some subji, rice and puri's that I had cooked. As the oldest child, Mauriana, was leaving she turned to my wife and I and said "This was the best day of my life. I want to do this every year!"

Giri Govardhana ki jaya!

Aspiring to be a servant of the Vaisnavas,
