Vaishnava Songs Word for Word Translation - Translation Request
Openmind - Tue, 11 Nov 2003 20:22:44 +0530
Almost none of the famous songs of Bhaktivinod Thakur and Narottam Das Thakur has a word for word translation in the songbook used by Iskcon, only general translation or purport. I wonder if anyone has ever translated these songs word for word, and if so, is this available?
Thank you.

I am not sure but I believe the book 'More songs of Vaishnava Acaryas' by Dasharath Suta Das is the one you may be looking for. I have not seen it myself, but I believe this has added word-for-word translations. Unfortunately I don't think that Dashrath has a website or so.

I tried to find it on the web without success? Is it available somewhere? Or does anybody have it as a file?
Thank you.

It's in the Vedabase. This "More songs" doesn't have the standard ISKCON songs though. Dasarath Suta also made a separate word-for-word appendix for the basic ISKCON song book.
His website:

I have the entire "Songs of the Vaishnava Acaryas" ISKCON songbook in a word-file. Whoever wants it, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll email it to you.
Oh yes, it has diacritics and word-for-word meanings as well.
