Gita Govinda Translated - http://www.geocities.com/giirvaani/

Madhava - Sun, 14 Sep 2003 23:46:00 +0530
Giirvaani - Sanskrit Classical Literature

"Gita govindam, Gitagovinda, or giita govindam and Ritusamharam, Ritu samhara, or Ritu samhaaram... titled so, in misspeet Itrans lingo... are being presented.

And we wish to present some more translations of good old epics of Sanskrit, as all our readers of Valmiki Ramayana have given enough enthusiasm to proceed further in this long forgotten lane of Sanskrit. Later, if time and space quotients permit some more like maheshvara suutraaNi, and if still possible megha duutam of kaalidas, are likely to be taken up."

reg: Gita Govinda - I have posted two more sarga-s sir - on one hand - it is taking time to gather scattered info, and on the other I am amazing whether any readersip is there to this or not - will my work go futile or so - that is my dillema posted in every last page of that work. Having seen innumerable readership to Ramayan, a little discouraged in this work, as none is pointing out any mistakes of wronggoing of expressions etc. - that is why it is taking time, sir... Yes, Madhava, Gitagoivindam work is going on slowly. As I have not come to web with prereharsed or doing homework, it is taking time. I have posted some more adhyaa-s. I rushed to web only because I am pained to see some ridiculous translations of this work, either by Americans of yester years, or by contemporary Indians.

I am receiving more brickbats than readers for this work, and one daasi says - the first thing to catch my eye was the lusty drawing of the gopi or is it possibly Sri Radha lying there with exposed body. This is considered aparadha to traditional vaisnavas-

Then I have said this to her - How about a translation / Loosen your cloths, untie your belt, open your loins! / - 6th song in 11th aSTa padi -dhiirasa miire... which opening loins is NOT AT ALL there or said by Jayadeva in original work -

This way half my time is going away in receiving attacks. Pl. bear with me.
