Tripurari Turning Into a Moderate? - His new Sanga newsletter
Mina - Fri, 22 Aug 2003 02:47:02 +0530
I decided to browse through the latest Sanga, instead of just deleting it from my inbox like I usually do. Must have been Sri Caitya-guru guiding me, because Swamiji makes an interesting statement in answer to a question about siddha pranali. Instead of taking the party line and outright condemning it, he states that some lineages offer it, but that it is actually just a 'prototype' for the siddha deha. I seem to remember not too long ago his taking a very hard line stance in opposition to the whole idea.
Could he finally be coming around? Maybe he has been sneaking an occasional peak at our discussions over here. If you're reading this, welcome to Raganuga discussions, Maharaj! Oh... and Radhe Radhe!

I believe he's been quite moderate since a good while. He is a very welcome addition to the otherwise often stiff Gaudiya Math frontier. He is evidently not a party-liner.

OK, I will leave the task of inviting him over here to participate in these discussions up to you. Hopefully he will personally take part directly, rather than delegating that role to someone like our friend Audarya Lila Das.

Maharaj knows about this site and has visited it on occasion. In particular, I refered him to Madhava's answer to the Pritisandarbha question a few days ago and he acknowledged reading it.
Naturally, Maharaj has to tread carefully, but I think that there is a general pull of gravity towards Radha Kund. Whoever accepts the authority of Rupa Goswami ultimately has to bathe in its water. Thus the VINA article I noted on the other thread.

Though Maharaj is undoubtedly more favorable towards the rest of the tradition than the mainstream GM preachers, I wouldn't expect him to rush in here headlong, given that he presumably desires to keep doing the valuable work he does within the framework of GM. We know how tense it can get. I believe he is already in the GM twilight zone on account of his cooperation with Jagat.
