This weekend, as I sorted out my work and did some routine maintenance on my PC, due to a system hang-up amidst a HD partition merge, I managed to get 50GB of data corrupted, including my e-mail folders and god knows what else. While in theory it should be possible to recover the data, I don't hold my hopes too high at the moment. I'd expect to have everything up and running sometime tomorrow or the day after. If I don't get the data restored, the most recent e-mail & message backups I have are from some two weeks ago. Even if I do manage to recover some of the data, it is possible that a part of it is corrupt. If anyone is expecting for an e-mail from me, I suggest you resend me the pending letter.
It shouldn't be a surprise that this occured on Ekadashi. There is some curse placed on my head, Ekadashi is my Friday 13th. The problem is it is twice a month. Whatever can fail generally fails, and whatever can't probably also will. The day of Hari they say.

So I lost 40 GB of stuff.
Fortunately most of it can be retrieved from backup CDs. Mails from the past two weeks are gone for good.

Some says that in Ekadasi day, the material energy is weaker, things that normally would take physical strength are not recommended, and for example, a surgery could be very risky at this day.
Probably Sri Hari takes advantage on this day and steals material attachments from His bhaktas. Is not Him known as Bhakata-vatsala?
Bhaja-bhakata-vatsala-sri-gourahari
Sri-gourahari so hi gostha-bihari
Nanda-yasomati-cita-hari
Just worship Sri Gourahari, who is always affectionate towards His devotees. He in no one other than Krishna, who roamed with the cows from forest to forest, and Who stole the heart of Nanda and Yasoda.I’m taking my PC to repair on Monday. Hopefully no data will be lost. It has been crashing almost every day for about two weeks. Somehow I'm managing to connect to the Internet.
Good luck on recovering from backup CDs.

Hari, I have no power so I cannot bestow any blessings, but like Tamal I unfortunately overlooked your plight. I surely wish you the best too, a speedy recovery from your PC troubles. I know what its like.

I hope this does not affect the GGM projects you were working on...

Well, I lost a couple of hours of work with Govinda Lilamrita. Nothing detrimental, I can do that again. Website engine, databases etc. are all safe. The only effect would be a slight delay.

I can send you the GL, KB, and whatever else you need, again in case you lost them.

From a friend’s computer:
Radhe Radhe!
Dear devotees, since the Goddess of shyness got you first, I could not get you mercy at this time, but at least I got your sidelong glances, which is equally powerful!
May I intensively pray to Lord Sri Hari (the Supreme Thief) to bless me with the knowledge of how to quickly steal His devotee’s blessings, sidelong glances and foot’s dust, before the Goodness of shyness appears on the picture.
Yours,
