Just came accross this profound teaching from the Uddhava Gita.
stavairuccAvacaih stotraih
paurANaih prAkRtairapi/
stutvA prasIda bhagavann-
iti vandeta daNDavat//
Then he should loudly sing hymns
composed by the ancients, as also
compositions ( of latter day saints )
in the language of the common man,
and fall flat like a stick in prostration
crying out; " O lord! be gracious to me.

I suppose the prAkRtaih api means even in the common tongue.
