Two notes on recent forum ongoings -
Madhava - Thu, 08 Dec 2005 23:23:17 +0530
I understand that some members have been disturbed by a recent post entitled "Season's greetings" featuring two finely decorated rear ends. The post has been removed and the poster has been made a moderated member indefinitely. In the future, please use the Report-button at the bottom left corner of the post to bring it to the attention of the moderators. We'll remove offending posts promptly once they are brought to our attention. I am currently in Vraja and don't have the time to screen through every single thread that goes on in the forums.
Another small note -- Please don't unnecessarily quote long chunks of previous posts. Only quote the relevant passage to which you are specifically replying. Please save me from the trouble of having to go and edit them to remove the clutter. I am on a slow connection here and have to pay per minute, posts like that cost both time and money to me.

And two more short notes:
1. Your member account will not be upgraded to Full Member unless you send us a note first. Please view my profile and click on the e-mail button there to send a note about your having filled in your profile. I don't have the time to screen through all members all the time and upgrade accounts automatically, though exceptions do occur.
2. Is anyone else having trouble sending PMs, or is it just this darned slow internet connection that makes the page freeze at times when I click "send"? I don't experience this with posts, only with PMs. Sometimes I find myself waiting for up to a minute before it launches off.

The last couple of days I have experienced a great deal of sluggishness with PMs and posting.
*edit* though this post went fine.

Yes there was something strange going on with the PMs
Gaurasundara - Sun, 11 Dec 2005 05:51:43 +0530
I've been experiencing problems with this wbebsite too with sluggishness in posting, hence my recent mistakes with posting topics several times.
But then again I thought it's a problem with my connection since I sem to be disconnecting more frequently than before. At least I know now that other people have suffered similar problems with this site at least.
Madhava - Tue, 13 Dec 2005 09:37:44 +0530
The PM issue seems to persist. (What's strange is it only happens on this forum, and not on other forums on the same server that use the same software.) I haven't had any troubles posting though.
Please post in this thread if the problems continue.

PM alerts persist even after they have been read, and yesterday I got 5 identical PMs from one and the same sender.

I seem to get more PM alerts in my email than actual PMs. I also got 5 identical PMs yesterday.

Ok, just a rundown of the PM issue:
1 - Slowness in PM page loading
2 - Multiple PM notifications (in email) for a single PM
3 - PM alert status is not reset
4 - Multiple copies of the same PM received
Are these all the issues people are seeing? Anything else?
For the record, I haven't experienced any PM issues, but I want to be clear on the problems people are having - as Madhava said, it doesn't seem to be manifesting on other forums on the same server.
Also, if anyone note specific times this seems to happen, especially with page loading issues, please post here - this helps pin down when and where to look in the logs for issues.

1/2 reply, 1/2 test, I just experienced a long lag in sending a PM.
EDIT: No problems in posting tho... this posted quickly.

Sometimes I'm experiencing sluggishness in posting 'regular' posts. It can take upto 4-5 minutes for me to post a new post or reply to a post. Seems fine now though, maybe it was a temporary thing.
Sakhicharan - Wed, 14 Dec 2005 07:50:55 +0530
I have actually timed how long it takes for a post to complete, and 3-4 minutes is not unusual, the PMs generally require the same amount of time for me. I just did a test post in the test zone, but it behaved as it should speedwise...
Madhava - Wed, 14 Dec 2005 11:39:40 +0530
Please send any and all communications to me by e-mail, I need to currently pay per minute for being online, and e-mails I can read and reply offline.
