		Behold! behold, O jiva, the exploits of Gaurangacand.
Forgeting a hundred thousand thousand loving cowherd damsels,
why should he become a sannyasi?
Foresaking his yellow garment, he has donned the loin cloth of a hermit,
and his cowherd stick is transfomed to a mendicants stalf.
Abandoning the happy sports that on Kalindi's banks he played,
he's come to the mighty ocean's shore.
In his Rama descent he wealds the formidable bow,
and in Gokula he sounds the sweet toned flute;
But now, out of kindness and compassion for the jiva,
he has become a stalf-bearing sannyasi.
Taking with him a new danda and a water pot,
he made his head quartes by the briny deep;
Ramananda says, this is no ( ordinary ) sannyasi,
this is the flood to sweep away the plebeian host.
