ACBSP & Asta Kaliya Lila - Srila Prabhupada's close viewpoint on Nitya Lila

I read in another list of question & answer about Srila Prabhupada's teachings to Hrsikesananda das in Mayapur.

When asked if Asta Kaliya Nitya Lila described by Srila Kaviraj Goswami was the REAL Nitya lila details HDG replied, "YES!" Then asked if "Asta kaliya Lila" could be added to his translation of Sri Upadesamrita, HDG said, "Yes, you put it!" And so there it is forever.

When Hrsikesananda spoke in Bengali with HDG over two weeks in Mayapur the conversations were in the manner of Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition because Hrsikesananda was trained and HDG knew well what kind of training he had received. The Ashrams of Swami Bon Maharaj were typical Gaudiya Math style and programs and vaishnavatva, same as all his Godbrothers, with whom he was on very good terms.

At one point Hrsikesananda asked HDG about "Lila-smaran-bhajan" and HDG agreed it was the means and end. But he spoke as if he didn't want his Western dsiciples (including Hrsikesananda das) to get into that because...

1) They were too restless for that
2) He wanted them to work at prachar

HDG did say that his disciples (including Hrsikesananda das) would all know about it later, but he acted like it was a distraction from what he wanted his disciples to do. There fore he often discouraged this point. But not when speaking with Hrsikesananda because HDG knew the subject was normal in Gaudiya Maths everywhere.

In addition HDG indicated in words and actions that he was in shambandanuga raganuga shakya rasa in Nitya lila. On the other hand Srila Bon Maharaj, Srila Sarasvati Prabhupada, Sri Thakur Bhaktivinod, Gaura Kishore up to Rupa & Raghunatha are all in Manjari bhava.

Srila Prabhupada may be in Shakya bhava following the shambundharupa ragatmika bhava of Lord Krishna's friends. In that case it may be best (for some) to focus on that aspect of Krishna lila smaran. It may be that Lord Krishna sent his "friend" as Srila Prabhupada to offer Shakya rati to the foul Western mind which is too far off to be involved in Madhurya Manjari raganuga bhakti (which is almost too high for the Indian born devotees to grasp).

If Srila Prabhupada is Krishna's Friend, then that's what I want. So I feel as a disciple of HDG that in that matter of lila bhajan my sthyi bhava could awaken best in Shakya rati. And that would be just fine with me. If ever...If only...

I would agree with you that there is plenty of evidence that ACBSP was a cowherd boy in his teachings with such things that women have 1/2 the intelligence of men as clearly this demonstrates some enviousness of the gopis' status.

It would be appreciated if issues primarily concerned with ISKCON and Gaudiya Math were discussed in their own respective forums. Gaudiya Discussions isn't really the forum of choice for topics like this, whatever the merits of this topic might otherwise be. Cordially inviting you to find a more befitting place for such topics, we hereby close this thread. These topics are sadly often a breeding ground of friction we are dearly trying to avoid. (Incidentally, the suggestion for closing this topic came from a follower of ACBSP.)
