A fellow devotee wrote me, asking about the appearance day of Lalita this year. We don't seem to have it in the Radha-kund Panjika at all. ISKCON and Gaudiya Matha calendars date it on the 9th of September, two days prior to Radhashtami.
However, we read from Rupa Goswami's Radha-Krishna-ganoddesh-dipika, priya-sakhyA bhavej jyeSThA sapta-viMzati-vAsaraiH, that she is twenty-seven days older than her dear sakhi, Radhika.
If Radha's birthday is on the Ashtami of Shukla Bhadrapada, that would then make Pavitra Ekadashi of Shukla Shravan her birthday. It seems, however, that this event has not made its way to traditional Vaishnava celebrations.
Does anyone have more information on this?
