RSS feeds provided by some websites are summaries of new articles, news items and so forth that you can view in your browser, e-mail client or RSS reader. Here, we'll show how to do this in Mozilla Firefox, your browser of choice.

There are two basic ways for adding a RSS feed in Mozilla Firefox. We're adding the Top News from Yahoo as our sample case. The first and easiest way is to right click on the RSS feed icon visible on the bottom right of the page that offers RSS feeds:

By right clicking, a familiar "Add Bookmark" dialogue comes up.

[attachmentid=1800]

Bookmark it as usual, and we're done. See the result at the end of this tutorial.

In the second scenario, the website isn't informing our browser of the availability of a RSS feed, yet it still is available. If that's the case, here's what we'll do.

First, find the link to the RSS feed and copy it to the clipboard.

[attachmentid=1801]

Then, go to Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks.

[attachmentid=1802]

Select File > New Live Bookmark.

[attachmentid=1803]

Enter the details in the box that pops open.

[attachmentid=1804]

Click OK, and there we have it.

Now, what good will this do to us? If you added the Live Bookmark among your bookmarks, you'll see it appearing as a folder with the latest news available.

[attachmentid=1805]

If you added it to the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder, you'll also see it available as follows:

[attachmentid=1806]

Now you can quickly check out Top Stories from Yahoo News without having to browse to the site.
