Digital Camera - Media card corruption? -

Every so often I get a messed up image, like this:

There doesn't seem to be any consistency as to when this happens. Does this mean the media card needs replacing?

Sweet.
Have you ever formated the card? Try that for starters. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess whether it's the media or the camera. Both certainly have the potential for accomplishing what you show.

Pray its the card.. looks like the jpg isn't getting written correctly, and that could be due to camera malfunction or card corruption. Is it an old camera?
BTW, something to drool over, the new Cannon Rebel digital line supports 35mm lenses, and (they claim) has a very short shutter time - like an SLR camera. They are about $1000 now, but give em a year...

I've reformatted the card, never been done previously.
I bought it second hand from a friend and it's probably somewhere around 3 years old. It's a
Fuji Finepix 2800. Great little camera except for the severely underlit viewfinder.

Same one I have.. good outside, poor inside. Slow shutter speed (click... wait.. capture picture) kills me. And yea, the viewfinder is way underlit...
