I dont know why it takes me ages - with a 1.6 mbps broadband connection - to open GD and to post replies on it. This morning a post with a difficult lay out was delayed so long I thought it was lost and I felt like I had to make a Word-back up of it to post it again. Then after a long time my post did appear on the board. This happens a lot of times. Something sucks big time about GD's server.....

If the server is located in Finland I'm more far away then you, and GD opens here very fast
.
Please note the time when these things happen so we can look them up in the logs. Or are you saying that it is consistently like this for you?
The server is in the US at the
EV1 datacenter sitting on top of six internet backbones. The datacenter bandwidth flows over fourteen gigabit links, and our server is on a 100 megabit local network.
I haven't had any issues with speed. Most of the time the problems are somewhere on the way, especially when we are talking about overseas traffic.
