The Culture Department has made elaborate arrangements for the Ram Lila and Krishna Lila festival that begins at the open-air theatre at Ravindra Bhawan on Thursday.
In a press conference on Wednesday the Director of the Adivasi Lok Kala Parishad Dr Kapil Tiwari expressed satisfaction over the preparations.
Organised by the name Janranjan, the festival is organised after a long time at the state capital. Seating arrangements have been made for at least 10,000 people at the venue.
Ram Lila and Krishna Lila would be staged simultaneously at the festival. The Director of Tulsi Academy, another institution supporting the festival, was also present at the occasion. Renowned Raslila artist Padmashree Ramswarup Sharma's group would present both the Lilas at the festival.
When asked as to why women refrained from participating in the Lila, Tiwari said the group was maintaining the customary format wherein only men enacted in Lilas.
Ram Lila would be staged everyday between 8 pm to 10.30 pm while the Krishna Lila would be held from 7 pm to 10 pm.
