Next Reading Assignment -

Well, next up is the Bhakta-Tattva-Vijnana.

I'd like to take a 'week' off, starting the reading next Tues. I will post a list of readings sometime this week. If you have any outstanding questions about Guru-Tattva-Vijnana, speak (ask) now or forever hold your piece. (Just kidding.. if you continue to have questions, ask away... its not like the topics are going to be locked or anything!)

Why a week off? Well, I think we saw participation falter towards the end of GTV, and I'm not suprised. I slacked off towards the end as well. Everyone take a breather, maybe read ahead a bit & lets kick it off again. And actually, I don't think I'm done with the last section of GTV yet... there's some interesting conversation going on that I'm gonna jump in on biggrin.gif

Hey, we still have one section of GTV left don't we, four pages worth studying?

"Some things that should be especially noted" - under one heading, at least three distinct themes:

1) Guru-pranali and manjari-bhava-sadhana.
2) The grace of and service to Guru and Vaishnavas.
3) The kind of guru that should be rejected.

That's plenty!

Besides, I don't feel we've even covered two thirds of our current assignment yet. The topic of guru-seva is virtually untouched aside my monologues. I've even asked questions with hopes of having someone comment.

If our participants are reading, they ought to be thinking too, and in a study-group the thinking should come out as talking. If there is no interaction aimed at delving deeper into the themes studied, we could all just as well read on our own at our own pace.

There are a lot of very important topics to be covered, but I really don't want to turn the study-group into a monologue. If people aren't participating, they'll be missing out on much.

Everyone who participated should make at least one post on each theme covered. For a week, it's only three to four posts. You can all manage that regardless of how busy you may be.
