I have told you the most sacred story of Sri Rama,
by hearing of which one is freed from the bonds of
birth and death and
there springs up devotion to
the lotus feet of the
all-merciful Ramacandra,
the wish-yielding celestial tree to the suppliant.
Those
who listen to this Lila narration with
mindful earare absolved of all sins of thought and word as well as deed.
Pilgrimages to shrines, and
other means of self-purification,
meditation, detachment,
perfection in wisdom, the various works
of religious merit, vows and charity, self-denial and self-control,
counting prayers on beads, penance and manifold sacrifices,
compassion shown to all living beings, service to priests and
elders, knowledge of scriptures and modesty as well as sound
judgement,
in short,
all the sadhanas (expedients) that Vedas have prescribed,
O Bhavaani, have but one reward (Fruit), that is Devotion to Sri Hari! But to that pure devotion to Lord Raghunatha which the scriptures
describe scarce any has attained and then
only by the Grace of Rama.
Although such pure devotion to Hari is scarce attainable even by
sages, it can be effortlessly won by those who
continually listento these exploits of the Lord and
put their trust in them.
He is the man of infinite knowledge accomplishment and wisdom,
he is the ornament of the world, learned and munificient, and
he is the pure pious devotee and saviour of his family, whose heart
and mind is utterly devoted to the lotus feet of Lord Ramacandra.sAdhaka siddha vimukta udAsI kavi kovida kRtajna sanyAsI

Aspirants, adepts, those already liberated,
anchorites, mystic bards, scholors, seers of
the results of perfectly performed karma (duty),
and wandering mendicants, ascetics, valiant heroes,
great penitents, wise men, ritualistic worshippers.
religious scholors, and men with subtle knowledge,
None of these can be saved unless they selflessly
Love and Serve my Master, Lord Ramacandra, before
Whom I bow myself again and again and yet again! The imperishable Lord I adore, by taking refuge with Whom
even such confirmed reprobates as myself are chastened!
