MSN Spaces - Attracts unknown virus

Advaitadas - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 19:02:11 +0530
Don't know if anyone has ever tried to use MSN Spaces, an experiment I guess by MSN as a service for members of MSN Messenger. One can blog and post photos etc on such MSN Spaces, but each time I open my space, or edit it I get a warning from my viruskiller F Secure that it 'may be infected by an unknown virus'. When I then opt to delete that unknown virus F Secure fails to tell me what was the fate of that unknown virus and the next time I open my Spaces again the same thing happens (infection). Anyone has any experience with this or knows if this is an actual virus or a false alarm?

If Microsoft gives something for free, there's got to be something fishy there. F-Secure is smart. smile.gif

But then why can F Secure not identify and/or remove the ghost-virus? unsure.gif I notice that the MSN Spaces project is a Beta project (trial project). Better wait until they improved their trial perhaps? crying.gif

Probably some protocol they're experimenting with, or something, and when the service goes past trial, F-Secure will update their scanner to not suspect it. Probably it's completely harmless.

Care to try if you also get hit by this ghost virus?

No, no problems hee.

Most likely it's some harmless piece of JavaScript that F-Secure suspects.
