Jagadananda's trip to Vraja -

Madhava - Sun, 20 Mar 2005 00:13:18 +0530
I'm sure we're all eager to hear about it, now that Jagat is back home and with internet access.

Some pictures...

[attachmentid=1408]

Jagat with a cute little lali who was selling muri (puffed rice), incidentally his favorite preparation, at Brahmanda Ghat in Gokul.

[attachmentid=1420]

Making friends with the local kids at Raval, the birth-place of Radharani.

On Maghi-purnima, we went to Govardhan-parikrama in the company of Sanatan Baba and others...

[attachmentid=1418]

First stopping at Govinda-kunda at Sri Nathji's small temple, commemorating the event of Madhavendra Puri's discovery of Gopal...

[attachmentid=1419]

And the dancing started...

[attachmentid=1416]

And it went on and on...

[attachmentid=1417]

All the way around the hill. smile.gif

And we participated in various festivals, for example:

[attachmentid=1421]

Advaita Prabhu's janma-lila-kirtan at the Sitanath Mandir.

[attachmentid=1422]

And the concluding kirtan at Gaura-Nitai Mandir on Nityananda-trayodasi.

Sorry, I wasn't there myself...

Nice pics. ]

One small, nitpicky point -

whenever my wife says 'gaur-nitai mandir' in RK she says someone always corrects, 'No, Nitai Gaur, Nitai Gaur...'
Apparently it's important.
Madhava - Sun, 20 Mar 2005 12:24:49 +0530
Hmm... my Baba gives both spellings, Gaura-Nitai and Nitai-Gaura, in his Radha-kunder Mahima O Aitihya. Madrasi Baba's booklet also refers to it as Gaura-Nitai Mandir. I'll have a look at the sign at the temple today.

These "traditional wisdoms" become important sometimes, although nobody seems to exactly know why things should be the way they are said they should be. smile.gif

Dear Friends,

I am having great difficulty getting the time to come on line. Please forgive me,n especially those of you who have written to me personally and asked for news. I will share more as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

In the meantime, I want to thank everyone who made this trip possible. It was a life-changing experience for me. How things will unfold from here on are anybody's guess.

Jai Radhe,

Jagat

Dandavants,

Great pictures, nice to see you both.

Was this the first time the two of you have met in person?

Haribol!

The sign outside the mandir says, "Mahaprabhu-mandir." smile.gif

Just today I heard Baba refer to the place as "Gaura-Nitai Mandir".

Brajamani, yes this was indeed the first time we met in person. Additionally, it was also the first time I met Braja and Rasaraja in person, as well as Tarun Govinda.
