Are you thinking of paying extra taxes this year? - For US, Australia, Italy, Poland, Brits

babu - Tue, 01 Feb 2005 19:14:24 +0530
With our governments doing so much good in the world with their spreading of Freedom, Liberty, Justice and Democracy to Iraq with their free elections, are you thinking of paying extra taxes this year to support these efforts? Freedom isn't free as we've spent upwards of 200 billion to bring these changes in Iraq so are you going to help out by paying extra taxes?

I haven't a clue what you are talking about.

Anyways, I've noticed most people have voted no. Vaisnavas it seems, like most other sects, like to keep the money in the family and so I wonder why folks are so hesitant to pay extra money in taxes when so much good is coming from it? Won't this help the Sankirtana movement, the outbreak of freedom and democracy in the world so we can drive our Sankirtana vans freely on the wide open road?

If Bush keeps spreading the mercy through the rest of the Middle-east the US will certainly have enough gas for a whole lot of sankirtan vans.

I believe my answer would be, "Hell No!"

I didn't want this war, I don't support this war, and I want it to be very obvious that we can't afford this war as a possible deterrent to any other president being stupid enough to start a pre-emptive war for no apparent reason.

I will, however, earmark money for the various underfunded charities that serve the needs of those who are not being helped by the government.

(edited to add: pagans don't need sankirtan vans. We'll walk or carpool to the groves for our licentious rituals.) wink.gif

I would certainly say ditto to Tapati's above statement. I don't actually pay (income) taxes at present, so for me to say 'hell no' is purely hypothetical, but if I did I would certainly say: no more money for the morons. Babu, you're not an IRS double agent are you? biggrin.gif

O, for that you'd need to be acquainted with a couple of secret languages like Westron, Adünaic, plus a bit Sindarin for starters. tongue.gif

One Ring to rule them all...

he he... I thought it was a pretty easy riddle, but I was obviously wrong... Dhyana gets the gold star today smile.gif

btw: anybody who thinks this war is about spreading democracy is living in a dense illusion, or is completely transcendental to this world. in babu's case I'm sure it's the transcendence, but in case of all the common fools in US supporting this war it is certainly illusion.

look at the reverse side of the one dollar bill, babu, at the top of the pyramid you will find the "All-seeing-eye". It is a very, very old symbol of a very, very old power. It takes a little bit of knowledge to connect this symbol to the war in Iraq, but I assure you - that connection is definitely there, and on several levels.

yes, the war in Iraq is also about oil, but not oil for YOU, silly Americans! have you checked the gas prices lately? high, aren't they? and have you checked the balance sheets of the multinational oil companies? huge profits, aren't they? yes, the war is a success! ...for the folks who own these companies and who also own Bush and his croonies...

and who pays for it all? you - in tax money, and soldiers and people in Iraq in their blood...

so... keep paying... the demon kings of this world need all your help...
