Profiles of Full Members - Please ensure they are filled in

As many of you may have noticed, we have a good many new full members onboard, whom I have not had the chance to announce here due to some time constraints here at Radha-kunda. Glancing over them quickly, a special mention goes for Malika Dasi, mother of Tamal Baran. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful friend, Malika.

On another note, we have received a number of complaints about some full members who have, after their accounts were upgraded, removed their profile. We would like to remind all that having a profile filled in is obligatory for all full members, aside some exceptional cases.

To enforce this principle, which we feel is one of the main reasons for the quality of the community here, I will begin to go over the member profiles of all full members next weekend, downgrading the membership of those whose profiles are not filled in. I will also send a PM to everyone affected by the change.

I would also like to request those, who now go to revise their profiles, to rather be generous than miserly in what you share of yourself. We all like to know about you. Please do not play the part of the pseudo-humble, but rather think that by telling generously of yourself you are rendering a pleasant service to the assembled Vaishnavas.

I would like to heartily second this. As we have said before, if you have some special reasons for wishing to limit giving information, please let us know what they are. But please don't overplay your fears.

There is no need to give legal or other names, addresses, phone numbers, email, anything that strictly identifies you alone. You can still let us know your age, sex, experience as a Vaishnava, general education, current occupation, interests and current attitude vis-à-vis Vaishnava beliefs and practices, and the such.

I, for one, really appreciate knowing more about those posting. I am naturally curious, I think it adds to the overall sense of community, and I love the little human elements that show up in the profiles. I notice, for instance, that I am not the only science fiction reader here. That makes me smile.

So I never got that far. Anyhow, the request is still in the air. If you are full members, please fill in your profiles if you edited them out or otherwise contact a moderator. I will eventually get there, and I'd rather not PM anyone about their profiles.

I have now gone over the profiles of all full members and sent a PM to all whom this may concern.

As time permits, I will also be going over the profiles of all regular members, looking if there will be some promotions.

I have added my photo and a few lines of personal information.

I just added biographical content; content about interests is forthcoming.

That's fairly elaborate, thank you very much!

For everyone's information, in a less secret language: I'm flying out in about six hours, so I'll probably not be all that well accessible for the next six weeks or so. I'll try and log in daily to check out what's happening at GD and to post to our blog, but I'll definitely be around less. Chats etc. will have to wait until I'm back in an environment where technology works the way it should.
