Madhava - Mon, 26 Aug 2002 11:50:53 +0530
The first audio lecture given by Pandit Ananta Das Babaji Maharaja has now been added to our audio library. Right now we have some ten tapes in stock to be digitized, I'd expect to have a new lecture online every few days or so.

The second part of the abovementioned lecture on Radha Rasa Sudhanidhi's third verse is now uploaded.

It is actually one lecture, but generally Advaitadas breaks them up into two sessions of about one hours when translating. I have kept them as such to keep the size of the files still downloadable. They are downsampled to 16kbps which is about as low and as compressed as you can get without making it sound like the voice comes somewhere from the nether regions or through a rain pipe.

If someone is wondering why I am using mp3 format instead of Real Audio which is popular on many websites, there are two main reasons:

1. Real Audio player is packed with advertisements, huge to download, as well as non-excellent in many other respects, whereas you can play mp3-files with Windows Media Player or download any of the light mp3 players such as Winamp which take hardly any resources;

2. You can easily burn mp3-files to a CD and take them with you to listen to them anywhere you like.
