Gmail? - curiosity, how to get, stuff like that

Srijiva - Sun, 09 Jan 2005 02:43:26 +0530
I have been hearing alot about Gmail ...the next big thing in email? From what I have read so far, it sounds like a good service Google is providing... but it still seems to be in its initial test stages.

apparently you need to be invited to sign up for an account. It seems that there are alot of "extra" invites out there.... if you know the right person or have good connections, I guess, you can get one. So if anyone here knows how I could get an invite, could you pm me?

why do I feel like I am trying to score? wink.gif laugh.gif

Personally, I am not crazy about the service because it seems quite slow to me when handling large files, but no reason to complain about the generous amount of storage space they provide for free- 1000 megs.
If you want an invite, PM me and give me your e-mail address.

Sorry I saw this late..

I use mine only for cc`ing people when emailing something important or something that may need to be around as proof of conversation/contact in some situations. For this use it has come inquite handy.

I am also in the habit of sending Bcc:s of all important correspondance there. Mozilla Thunderbird has a feature for automatically sending a Bcc to an address, so it isn't even a matter of being lazy. smile.gif

Anyone still got any invites to spare? Please send me one. smile.gif

I'd be glad to...

PM me with your email address and I will send one to you smile.gif

By the way...be forewarned that gmail is a Natzi about password selection. My mother in law gave up trying to open an account just yesterday because it kept denying her password selection, claiming them to be too simple...and she came up with some doozies, I am told.

wink.gif I am actually wondering if that might not actually be a cookie issue or something...she wasn't clear if it was asking for the password again or asking her to choose another...I wasn't there, and she did not pay enough attention to be able to tell me for certain.

Anyways, I have like 47 invites left, and everyone who signs up will get 50 invites to share...so, have at it! biggrin.gif
