Music -

I was doing housework and I turned on CBC-2 and got a real flash from the past: East Meets West with Ravi Shankar and Yehudi Menuhin. I hadn't heard that in ages and ages and ages. When I was a teenager, it really blew my mind and I still find it a powerful piece of music. I much prefer it to John Maclaughlin.

Turned out it wasn't Yehudi Menuhin but a younger violinist, but I could not tell the difference.

But I've been meaning to tell Hari Saran that I am appreciating the tape of Radhapada Dasji that he gave me. I really should update my Vaishnava music collection.

There's quite a few CD's on Amazon if you type in bhajan or Indian Classical or such other hints. I'm lucky here in London because there is much availabe of that kind of thing (or anything). I have some fantastic CD's of various renderings of selections from Gita Govinda, you can learn to sing from them
