O radiant moon of Navadvipa, my lord be gracious to me.
You are the boundless ocean of love-incarnate and the repository of all joy.
O lord! You have manifest to relish the love of yourself,
with which love you have delivered the world.
Even the basest characters and those wayward souls have receied it,
with no consideration of who is worthy or unworthy, so have I heard.
It gives hope to this vile sinner, and with this submission,
Radhamohan das begs at your feet.

In A History of Brajabuli Literature, the Bengali scholar Sukumar Sen writes:

Radha Mohan was a great-grandson of Srinivas Acharya. He was born sometime about 1699 A.D. and died in 1778. Radha Mohan was one of the greatest vaiSNava scholars of his time. When he was a young man, there arose an acute doctrinal difference between two schools of vaiSNava thought. One school supported the doctrine of svakIyA [That the highest attainment in the conjugal mellow is experienced when the beloved relates to Krishna as her husband.] and the other the doctrine of parakIyA [That the highest attainment is experienced when the beloved relates to Krishna as her paramour.]. This controversy came to such a head that an assembly of all the leading vaiSNavas was called, and the leaders of the two schools were asked to discuss their doctrines publicly and to accept the judgment of the assembly. Radha Mohan was chosen as the leader of the parakIyA school. After a protracted and lively discussion, Radha Mohan vindicated the doctrine of his school, and was given a certificate to that effect, signed by all the vaiSNava scholars present.

This document was registered at the court of Murshidkuli Khan in March 1718. Radha Mohan lived at Malihati, a village a few miles distant from Katwa. He was the guru of Maharaja Nandakumar. Radha Mohan’s great work is the PadAmRta-samudra, an anthology of 730 vaiSNava lyric poems, of which 185 belong to himself.

(DhAnazI-rAga)

sakala vaiSNava gosAi dayA kara more
dante tRNa dhari kahe e dIna pAmare

O saintly vaisnavas, please be merciful to me!
Holding a blade of grass in his teeth, a poor wretch speaks as follows:

zrI-guru-caraNa Ara zrI-kRSNa-caitanya
pAda-padma pAoyAiyA more kara dhanya

Please give me the great treasure of the attainment of shelter
at the lotus feet of Sri Guru and Sri Krishna Caitanya.

tomA sabAra karuNA vinA iha prApti naya
vizeSe ayogya muJi kahila nizcaya

Without the mercy of all of you, reaching such a goal is not possible.
I speak of my disqualifications with certainty.

vAJchA-kalpa-taru hao karuNA-sAgara
ei ta bharasA muNi dhari ye antara

You are all wish-fulfilling desire trees and oceans of mercy.
I have that faith in my heart.

guNa leza nAhi mora aparAdhera sīmA
AmA uddhAriyA loke dekhAo mahimA

I have not even a trace of any valuable quality, and I have reached the limit of offensiveness.
In my deliverance, the world will understand your glories.

nAma-sa kIrtana ruci Ara prema-dhana
e rAdhA-mohane deha ha-iyA sa-karuNa

Therefore, please kindly give to this Radha Mohan Das
the gift of taste for nama-kirtana and the great treasure of prema.
