Sannyasa - Prerequisite for Manjari-bhava ?

In the book entitled '' Gifts of Sacred Wonder '' edited by Neal Delmonico ( Nitai das ), on the page 46 , in the beautiful text '' The Role of Sakti in Gaura Lila '' ( footnote 99 ) Jagat said :

Sannyasa carries with it the significances of taking a female identity in relation to God . In the Sadhana-dipika , renunciation from household responsibility is said to be the prerequisite for entering into the mysteries f manjari-bhava . Locana dasa stresses the significiance of Gadadhara's sannyasa as proof of his identity as Radha ...-..Mahaprabhu eluded the trap of becoming a purusa ( male ) again and adopted the sannyasa order . Another uncertain book , the Samskara-dipika gives gopi-bhavasrayaya svaha as the incantation used when donning the kaupin .Although there are exceptions , most orthodox branches of the school still follow the rule that one's manjari identity is given only to renunciates.

Dear Jagat Ji , can you elaborate on this , please , for the benefit of the all of us ?

with respect,

If this is true then how could one ever get that information from their orthodox guru since most of the gurus themselves are married?

I don't know why I wrote that. It does not seem true to me now. I should have said "some" instead of "most." My guru did not follow any such rule. If I rewrote the article, I would certainly change that.

That would have been written sometime in 1985 or 1986, right?

I would be curious to know, which branches do follow that idea?

Good question. I really don't know. I don't understand what made me write that. Sadhana-dipika definitely says that, though.

Who wrote sadhan dipika?

Sadhana Dipika

Little is known about Radhakrishna Goswami the author of Sadhana Dipika and Dasasloki Bhashya other than that he was a disciple of Haridas Goswami (named in the Chaitanya Charitamrita) and his successor as the head priest of the Govindaji temple in Vrindavan. Initiated in the line of Gadadhar Pandit, he glorified him as an incarnation of Radha.
