I hope the learned readers will forgive my indulgence for I never laboured ought in my mind till now and I am not sure, but perhaps I am a little crazy.
We meditate on that reality from whom all this evolves,
In whom it doth abide, and into whom at last dissolves;
Omniscient, yet whom all knowledge doth transcend;
Imminent, yet who doth only on himself depend.
Who did at first the primal poet's heart infuse
With principles divine, that still the wise confuse;
Whose power of illusion, by some semblance makes
What's real concealed, by varied shapes it takes.
And so on barren sands a mirage oft we see,
As oft the mind's mistaken, deluded by the gunas' three.
But he in his eternal majesty forever dwells,
Dissipates all gloom and all ignorance dispels.

Lovely versification, Morris. You need a spell-check, though eh?
But did you write these verses? I can see they are very close to the BBT translations of the sanskrit originals.

Thanks. Yes I cannot deny that these lines were pened by me, not from any knowledge of sanskrt except some vocabulary, but from English translations, particularly the Gita Press edition. The inspiration for the versification are mainly Dryden's translations of Ovid and Virgil as well as Pope's Homer. I aslo have an excelent metric rendering of the Gita by the late Prof. Caleb and the abrigded Ramayan and Mahabharat by Romesh Datta. I appologise for my atrociuos spelling, no excuse but a lazy mind.
Was the citation from Bhakti sandarbha in referance to Bhag 1.1.1? I am very interested to see Sri Jiva's tika on that sloka.

Oh no, it's just my new signature on all my posts. I got it from Madhava. I'm not much of a pandit with the sanskrit texts, though I'm slowly learning.

All your verses are very nice. Dryden and Pope? Excellent choices.
Please continue with your writing.

Jiva's tika to 1.1.1 is pretty lengthy. One day we will put our minds to the Bhagavata commentary for GGM.
