I'm not sure what tradition he is from though, since he thinks he is Radha herself.

Not very. Apart from those who do it as a matter of sadhana, perhaps the only other type are the eunuchs.

The article from BBC also mentioned "drag" and "penchant for women's clothes," therefore I doubt its accuracy.
