Book Publication - In Need of Funding

Mina - Sun, 11 Sep 2005 04:35:42 +0530
I would like to complete the two works in progress: English translations of the Gutika and the book on the guru by Sundarananda. The biggest obstacle is time needed to work on it. Unfortuntely with my current financial situation I need to devote the bulk of my waking hours to the day and night jobs, which leaves no time for those projects. Any donations that anyone would like to make for those projects will buy me time to work on them, since I won't need to spend as much time at the day and night jobs. If anyone would like to make a contribution, send me a message by PM. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

You can read some of what I have translated so far for the Gutika on another thread on this site. Perhaps Madhava would be so kind as to post the link to that topic here.

Here it is. smile.gif

How's the work with Sundarananda's book going? Which version of Gopal Das Baba's Gutika is this, the regular sized one or the mammoth edition?

Well, it has been on the back burner for some time now, due to my predicament. I am not sure whether the version of the Gutika in my possession is the larger or smaller one. It is about a little over an inch thick, if that is any help.

I may start translating Sundarananda's Ananga-manjari-samputika as well. I just have to see in general what the content of it looks like before I make my final decision. After all, there have to be priorities.

We have it at the Grantha Mandir, you've probably noticed?

Advaita once translated it, actually, but it isn't in distribution any longer, as someone in Navadvipa wasn't too happy with the idea of his presenting it in English.

I believe the Gutika you have is the "normal" version that's commonly available. I've only heard the fat volume spoken of, I hear it's extremely elaborate. For all practical purposes, I would assume an inch's worth astakala-lila is quite sufficient for most of us for memorizing.
