Taking a Break - Taking a week or two off...

DharmaChakra - Wed, 01 Jun 2005 05:42:21 +0530
I think we need to take a week or two off before we start in on Bhakta-Tattva-Vijnana. We'll take a breather & I'll put out a posting asking for interested people to sign up. I'm wondering if we should compress the reading/discussion schedule? What do people think? Was this too drawn out?

I'd also be interested in ways to improve the group for BTV. Throw your ideas into this thread!

Radhe Radhe!

To me it was a good pace. My participation is purely hindered by the amount of work. We finally completed budget's and the new fiscal year started today with a ton of new initiatives that I need to implement plus a ton of travel until September. All in all I am juts trying to catch my breath and tend to participate by reading your thoughts and by speaking up when I have something to add.
Sorry for being such a stiff but I do hope to participate more in the future.

I was quite comfortable with the pace and extent of the study myself. Anything less in terms of depth would not even scratch the surface, even now I feel we leave a lot uncovered. But then, I don't suppose it's possible to take everything apart in one shot, anyway. Let's leave something for the future generations. smile.gif

What I would like to see is everyone who participated in the week's reading make at least one post per topic. Now we've been having an average of three to four topics per week. A single post of a modest length will take about fifteen minutes to type in. Three of those plus the week's reading, plus reading through the week's threads, it should be possible to squeeze all that into a total of one and half hours.

I think it's more of an issue of everyone's making it a point to themselves to participate X amount every week.

What we could do is ask everyone to put in their names for participating in each week's reading, to know who are the ones participating. Let's have a separate topic for subscriptions. Then people are "officially" a part of the week's reading, and it's perhaps then easier to make oneself make the small endeavor it takes to participate. Because everyone's watching. biggrin.gif

Ready when you are! (Your two weeks are up, and I really miss reading and discussing Radhakunda Mahant Pandit Sri Ananta das Babaji Maharaj's books with the assembled devotees).

We definitely need to ressurect this section. When I was in Sri Lanka, I was afraid that you all would have moved on to the various books in the tattva-vijnana series and other books by Sri Babaji Maharaja without me. It turns out that I missed very little. So we definitely need to keep these studies going.

After Babaji's books we can start studying shastras, any one of them. There's no limit.

All right. Who's interested in actively participating in another session? Please post here and state your interest.

I was going to bring this back up in the first week of Sept timeframe. I know some of us happen to have some things on our plate rolleyes.gif But no, this is not dead.

I'm definitely interested! smile.gif I have four books by Babaji Maharaja; Guru-tattva-vijnana (which has been done), Bhakta-tattva-vijnana, Raga-vartma-candrika and Siksastaka commentary.

The interest is to deepen our study and understanding of these texts and possibly more.

You know I'm interested -- I said that the two weeks was up quite some time ago! tongue.gif But I know that people are busy, and I didn't want to be a nag, so I've been patiently doing other things to get my Tattva-vijnana fix. rolleyes.gif
