brajamani - Wed, 30 Mar 2005 20:22:15 +0530
Does anyone know where I can get a larger than normal japa mala bag?

I have a big set of japa beads and the bags too small.

thanks in advance,
brajamani

Join the club biggrin.gif Actually, I had a friend that was going to Vrindavan bring me back one. Its actually very nice, kinda rough burlap exterior but silk (ish) lining. And its huge, fits both my beads and my hand. No idea where/what shop he got it at. Thats about the only way you are going to get one tho... other than making one yourself.

Wow!
Jai Radhe! I am so excited that I may have the chance to serve the Bhaktas! My wife and I recvd many sheet sets for our wedding. These sheet sets all came with very large bags with a draw string and divet cut out of the bag where the draw string gathers. I soon after was given a VERY large Tulsi Mala and it fits perfectly with my VERY large hand inside! I have one (maybe two) made of cotton flannel in a deep blue color and one (maybe two) in a cream/Ivory color.
If it sounds interesting, check out your local Target/Walmart/K-mart or pm me and I can look for them and send.

I can speak from experience that bead bags are fairly simple to make, so long as you'rs at least a little bit proficiant on a sewing machine. What I did was take the stiching out of a regular bead bag and see what the shape of the peices were that I was wanting to assimilate. My first two attepts were rather ruggish looking...but I soon got the concept down.
