In praise of Vaishnavas - Srila Ananta das Babaji

TarunGovindadas - Tue, 11 Jan 2005 13:06:41 +0530
Radhe Radhe!

Since my heart is too full with appreciation, I thought it would a nice idea to start a thread glorifying the Vaishnavas. Maybe some other devotees would also want to contribute to this.

What better way to start than with my Srila Gurudeva.

Whoa, I am still totally on cloud nine after my trip to Sri Radhakunda and the diksha-initiation therein.

After reading Srila Ananta das Babaji´s books I was already very much inspired in devotional life. I was convinced by his depth and by his inner realizations.
So many things became crystal clear only by reading his writings.

Then, after some letter exchanges I felt that I was connected to him more and more, and over three years he mercifully answered every question I had.

Finally meeting him in person was a dream come true and I felt at home after a long troublesome journey. To look in his compassionate dark eyes and to feel his vibrant spiritual presence in the room was a new experience for me; he was like I always thought a real saintly guru should be.

I was so happy about his considering me fit for diksha. The ceremony was totally out of this world. I never felt such a kindness and such a power-surge in that moment he spoke the mantras into my right ears. I wanted to cry. and I thought millions of lifetimes have been washed away, tons of burdens dropped down.

I still can feel this moment of truth.

So now, as I hold his books in my fallible hands, I stand in awe and happiness to know now by whom they have been written, and when I hear his pathas knowing now who is speaking there, a very very gentle, compassionate, extremely learned and most humble, shining soul, deeply absorbed in bhajan.

All glories to Srila Ananta das Babaji Maharaja!

Radhe Radhe!
Tarun Govinda dasji,
I just want to tell you that you have exactly described my feelings on reading Babaji's books. Suddenly, everything 'snapped' into view. All the things that I had been reading about for years amazingly made sense.

Unfortunately, whenever I try to write him, I find my questions to be too simple and neophyte... and I end up too shy to send them.

All Glories to Sri Sri Radhakund Mahant Ananta das Babaji! Never will I have enough words to thank him.
