God v. Bush -

I thought it was interesting coincidence that a state with a questionable presidential election results would be pummeled by hurricanes just before the next election.  Then I thought it was an interesting coincidence that the storms spared Miami, who voted for Gore in 2000.  Just  of curiousity, I overlaid two maps:one of the tracks the hurricanes of 2004, and one of the election results of 2000.

Perhaps this should go in the other topics category?

Well, the more people panic (ie. the more people feel the world is filled with danger and they are going to be crushed at any moment) the more likely they are to vote for Bush. Isn't it true? Bush is the tough cowboy who will "smoke out" the terrorists... why not also magically stop natural disasters? Did you see that Mt. St. Helens may be ready to blow again? There have been some minor earthquakes at the site recently.

So, whose side is God on, anyway? tongue.gif

God

I just wanted to point out that God is His position and not His name. Its kinda like before W. became The President, he was not called The President and so it is with God. Before God became God, He was not called God. Sometimes there is the courtesy reserved for presidents and they are perpetually given the honorific as The President but it is understood they no longer hold the vestiges of the office and so it is with God when He no longer decides to be God.

And the more they vote for Bush, the more likely they will be crushed at any moment.

Bush was never really elected. He schemed it. So he is more like Paundraka. tongue.gif

It would be shocking and awful if he were elected for real.

"The BBC is reporting that the Japanese Earth Simulator supercomputer is producing results showing that it is possible to model climate down to the level of severe weather events such as hurricanes. This computer has been discussed on Slashdot previously, and it sounds like at least some of the hype around this beastie was justified."

RUN HIDE! THE END IS UPON US!
