Feedback On New Design Of Forums -

Kalkidas - Tue, 16 Dec 2003 14:36:16 +0530
Since there are no separate feedback forum onboard, I'm placing this topic here.

Dear Madhavaji,
your design, as always, makes happy my tired from jumping Santas eyes by simplicity and well selected colors, but buttons (like "New topic") are slightly hard to read... Maybe, if you change their color to dark grey, it'll help?

No more "Daily meditations"? sad.gif
It was one of my favourite forums, full of pearls and gems...

I figured since there's no actual website beyond the forums, that we probably don't need a feedback forum here.

I'll look into the buttons. I didn't have the time to start creating them for now, so I just downloaded ad ready-made set. It was a long night even without them. But I'll look into this.

We can move it over, or set up a new, similar forum. That forum just wasn't much of a "daily" anything, so I set it aside into the archives.

You now have a "Pearls of Wisdom" forum at your disposal.

I figured green would make a nice theme. My wife's into colours, and she tells me that green is the colour of peace, harmony, justice and nature. I figured that would be a good choice for forums in which discussions sometimes escalate. Looking at the green theme long enough should calm you folks down. cool.gif

First and last impressions of the new forums are, what have you done to the colour scheme! sad.gif
Peaceful! I'm seriously thinking of initiating a hate campaign across all discussions untill my demands for a colour change are met. crying.gif
When Radha and Krishna meet, their combined effulgence creates a deep green colour, smoky green is also the colour of the Anahata chakra, which would be nearer to producing the aforementioned virtues.
Sorry to dis your hard work, huh.gif but pale green, just makes me want to add more and more emoticons. mad.gif

I'll make a couple of alternate skins. Gold, Bluehue and Ruby coming up in a moment.

It doesn't look so pale here though, are you sure it's not your screen set too bright?
Madhava - Fri, 19 Dec 2003 06:05:11 +0530
We now have the following options:

- Gaudiya Skin (the default green)
- Bluehue Skin
- Ruby Skin
- Gold Skin

You can change skins under Skin and Languages in your control panel.

Thanks for doing the skins Madhava. Hopefully you'll have taken it as some light-hearted ribbing from me earlier. However, it has made a dramatic difference for me, making me rethink just how important colours are on our psyche. London usually degenerates into a rather desolute grey colour in winter. I don't think there's anywhere like India for such brightness, contrast and explosion of colours, which lends something to the appeal of the place. I tried to book a ticket to India today but prices have sored for this time of year, so I'm stuck here for the moment, nonetheless very satisfied now to log on to Gaudiya Discussions. smile.gif

Now we'll have to do a survey to see which color is chosen by the most aggressive participants. My money's on "gold."

Dandavats. All glories to the Vaisnavas.

I am voting for Madhava's original and default skins. I think it is very classy and easy on the eyes. I believe my punk past will put me amongst the most aggressive participants! Don't make me scream... tongue.gif

Oh yes, of course.

Reading your post with the emoticons, my wife was laughing and said that you are definitely not in a green period.

I'm hoping the green skin will broadcast a signal that this is not a place where one comes to argue and quarrel. That's why I am keeping it as the default skin.

Talk about it. The days here are getting shorter and shorter. The newspaper tells me that tomorrow sun rises at 9.23 and sets at 15.12. Most of that time the sky is clouded, so sometimes we virtually don't see the sun for a month. Talk about a moody influence.

I'm sure the administrator can post in statistics from the database upon request.

The site is up since a couple of days and we're already indexed by Google. I wonder what happened? huh.gif
